Calgary

Though it’s the home of the Calgary Stampede, Calgary offers much more than bull riding and epic Grandstand shows. To name just a few, try visiting the Calgary Tower, the Bell Music Centre, a Theatre Calgary production, the Big Rock Brewery, Expo Latino, 17th Ave and the Entertainment District, and much, much more. Just a short drive away you can find a world-class Dinosaur Museum (Royal Tyrell Museum), Banff National Park, Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, and Lake Louise – just to name a handful. Many tourists come to experience the world-class ski resorts to the West of Calgary. ~www.thecrazytourist.com

Edmonton

A trip to Edmonton from my current hometown in Calgary is always a surprising experience – how can two cities only 300 Km apart be so different? The river valley itself is spectacular and cannot be missed. Boasting its very own glass pyramids (Muttart Conservatory), one of the largest shopping malls in the world (West Edmonton Mall), a world-class summer art festival (Fringe Festival) and a spectacular hockey experience in the winter (Roger’s Place & the Edmonton Oilers), this city has a lot of Canadian culture and personality that is sure to please. ~D.Wilde
